Defense body of an obese 40 percent lower than a normal sized person. The researchers say, this condition makes them have a lot of rest, because of the possibility of injury and illness big enough. As a result, they are less productive in the workplace.
In a study conducted at Virginia Tech and the University at Buffalo, United States, the researchers examined endurance of 32 respondents were divided into four categories; young non-obese, obese young, non-obese older, and obese older.
Each of them completed the three tasks that involve a variety of skills; hand grip, shoulder elevation, and operate simulation assembly. In its judgment, the researchers looked at the break, the length of their work, including their keaktivitasan level.
Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Lora Cavuoto, judging that fat woman is worse in doing his work.
"Our findings show, on average, 40 percent have immune system lower in the obese group, with the greatest difference in terms of geggaman hand and assembly task simulations," Lora said as quoted by the Daily Mail, Saturday (07/26/2014)
Lora explained, obesity has long been associated with decreased blood flow. Later, it will limit the supply of oxygen and energy sources. So, when they perform a number of duties, functions of muscles will get tired quickly.
"Workers who are obese may need to rest more, to restore muscle function to its original state," said Lora.
